Comments: In 1929, he joined his father at Schmidt Lithograph in San Francisco; married in 1934, and was employed by the WPA as an easel painter, 1936-40. From 1947-52, he was Prof. Painting at Cal. Col. of Arts & Crafts, Oakland, CA, and in 1949 also taught at San Fran. Mus. Mod. Art. In 1976, after the death of his son, he lost his desire to paint.
