Asia's leading international fine art fair returns during the peak art

season in October 2016

Fine Art Asia 2016, Asia's leading international fine art fair, will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sunday 2nd to Wednesday 5th October 2016, with a VIP Preview and Vernissage on Saturday 1st October.

Over the past decade, Fine Art Asia has become renowned as Asia's foremost fair dedicated to art and antiques. The fair showcases museum-quality works of art spanning 5,000 years of cultural history, from antiquity to the present day. In 2015, Fine Art Asia displayed more than 6,500 outstanding works of art worth HK$2.8 billion, and attracted 25,800 visitors from all over the world. The fair provides an unrivalled opportunity to view and acquire the best artworks across a wide range of disciplines.

Fine Art Asia 2016 is staged at the peak of the October art season in Hong Kong and coincides with Sotheby's auctions in the same venue. The vibrant atmosphere in the art scene at this time of year attracts a sophisticated, appreciative audience of dealers, collectors, curators and art lovers from throughout Asia as well as from all over the world.

A Unique Fair

Fine Art Asia, founded in 2006,is the only fair in Asia to showcase a wide range of collectible fine art from both Asia and the West. The fair has consistently pioneered new categories and provides an ideal platform to cater to the widening tastes of keen Asian collectors and the maturing Asian art market.

Hong Kong is the focal point of the art market in Asia and one of the top three art auction centres in the world, along with New York and London. With world-class galleries, auction houses and art fairs, it plays a vital role in the global art market. The recent success of major contemporary art fairs, followed by the very positive results at Sotheby's Hong Kong Spring Auctions, defied predictions of an art market slowdown.
