The French art movement known as Narrative Figuration was officially born in 1965. Both museums and auctioneers are planning to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary.

After the Art Paris contemporary art fair (from 3 to 7 April), the Grand Palais will stage a much-anticipated three-month retrospective on Narrative Figuration (Narrative Figuration, Paris, 1960-1972, from 16 April to 13 July), a French art movement mirroring American Pop Art of the 1960s.

On 14 April, Christie’s Paris will sell 46 post-WWII works belonging to two European collectors.The sale is expected to generate close to EUR 1.5 million in turnover. Most of the artistic movements featured are French: New Realism, Figuration Libre, Figuration Narrative and a large selection of French post-war abstract art.
