Comments: The son of Sanford Mason (see entry), with whom he has often been confused. Began his career in 1843. He is best known for his figural works derived from ancient and modern literature. Spent his career in Phila., but traveled to Boston and other parts of the country. Although he died in 1864, his name appears in Phila. directories from 1865-66.
