Comments: He carved Utah's stone for the Washington Monument in Washington (DC), a lion for Brigham Young's house, and a bust of Shakespeare. He was also assistant architect of the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City. He later left the church and went to St. Louis. In 1892 he returned to Salt Lake City to teach drawing at the University of Utah.
