Comments: Listed in Groce & Wallace as active 1854-60, based on Census of 1860. There was another George Wright (see entry) of Philadelphia who exhibited genre paintings, 1872-94, in Philadelphia and New York. It does not seem likely that they are the same person, but they may have been related. In addition, there was artist George Hand Wright (1872-1951), also of Philadelphia, who was probably a relative.
