1919:A decree officially established the Rodin Museum which opened its doors to the public on 4 August 1919.
1900:He shocked the academic world with his revolutionary sculptures and made up his own rules. His “Monument to Balzac” was scorned at. Fortunately there were admirers as well and in 1900 he was a famous and well respected artist, who received many commi
1884:He was commissioned to create a monument that became The Burghers of Calais.
1875:Rodin traveled to Italy, where the works of MICHELANGELO made a strong impression on him.
1864:Rodin met a seamstress named Rose BEURET.
1854:He applied three times to study at the renowned Ecole des Beaux-Arts but was rejected each time.
