Comments: In 1926 Elk Eber painted Custer's Last Stand," claiming to be the son of a Sioux woman and a German professor. The fraud was not discovered until1969 when it was learned that Elk Eber was Wilhelm Emil Eber, who had posed as an Indian and then returned to Germany to design posters for the Nazi movement.
