Comments: After painting in Spain, Germany, and France, he came to the US in 1929. His earlier work consisted mainly of landscapes and portraits, and then he moved toward geometric abstraction. He was also a designer of art deco furniture and other objects. In 1962 he went to Calcutta, India, where he worked as an artist for 5 years.
