Observations

Nothing could please Dali more, than to pay tribute to his friend Marcel Duchamp by creating the ironic opposite to the famous divisionist 1912 painting "Nude Descending the Staircase #2" (Philadelphia Museum of Art) which was hugely influential on Dali and other Futurist artists worldwide. Hence this beautiful realistic body – which reminds us in the form of Gala, climbing up the spirals in a marine shell, symbol of universal life and eternity. All together, the piece exudes reflection and eroticism. The bronze we have available from the edition of 99 exemplars worldwide, is in excellent condition, and is accompanied by the original certification of authenticity from the publisher as descended from Dali's own hands. The edition is accredited by the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation in Figueras, Spain.
