Este retrato muestra a Francesco Panigarola, obispo de la ciudad de Asti y autor del tratado "Del modo di comporre una predica" de 1599. Lavinia Fontana retoma la representación del clérigo ya un año antes en el retrato firmado de 1585, ubicado en la Galería Pitti en Florencia.

This portrait shows Francesco Panigarola, Bishop of the City of Asti and author of the treatise "Del modo di comporre una predica" of 1599. Lavinia Fontana takes up the representation of the clergyman a year earlier in the signed portrait dated 1585 Galleria Pitti is located in Florence.
