As an Art enthusiast for the past 30 years, and an Art Historian, I made the decision to share my passion by offering artworks from my own collection, a collection constantly evolving and expanding through regular purchases. It is a great pleasure for me to share this direct contact with other like minded passionate collectors.

Deciding the fair price for an Artwork is a complex decision. I always think passion and attraction must come first and foremost. Secondly, comes the more difficult aspect of figuring the price within the context of the current world art market.

There are several critical aspect to take into consideration.

When analysing auction results, especially for lithographs and prints, the overall condition is rarely mentioned. For instance, are they in mint condition? Faded colours? Or accidental marks on the paper itself? This of course is explained when one work may be sold for 1500€, yet another may range from 3000-5000€ if in mint condition. With this in mind, my works may compare with the higher end results within auction pricing because I offer (99% of cases) artworks in perfect condition.

The selling price of an artwork within a gallery is usually 2-3 times the average selling price from an auction house.

But an auction house will always give lower estimations because it is in their best interest to sell works expediently, and with lower prices it is easier for them to add their 20-30% commission charges to the buyer, and the subsequent 8-10% to the seller. Of course this is attractive to the buyers, and works if the seller agrees to lowered prices, even if sometimes the estimated lower price is often overpassed.

In examining the artworks condition for the purposes of valuation, auctions can be the most realistic basis on which to evaluate both theoffer and demand for a piece of art.

Purchasing artworks direct from a serious collector, like myself with an Art history degree, enables a path between Galleries and Auction Houses. My prices are not inflated to cover the costs of a gallery, and my artworks are priced competitively at the level of auction house results.
