Artwork description

Gustave Léon Doyen is a French academic painter, student and assistant of William Bouguereau, specializing in genre scenes and portraits. He married Marie Reine Rousseau in the 6th arrondissement of Paris on March 14, 1885. He directed the Fontainebleau School of Painting from November 1894 to his death.
