Observations	Ink & Wash on paper signed “W.Kray” on bottom left part. Dated on bottom right “86” & dedicated “Für …(illegible)”. Preparatory study for the well-known painting “A Nymph by the sea” Oil on canvas 112,4x76,2cm. The winged nymph is seated on a rocky outcrop by the sea with a tear in her eye. The main difference with the painting is in the fabric covering her body which is more visible and the dynamism of the veil of the fabric behind the wings is far more invisible than on the painting.
