Inspired by the narratives and botanical drawings of women naturalists including Canadian pioneer Catharine Parr Traill, Fiona Ackerman has re-imagined nature. In her work, Ackerman re-interprets the taxonomy of flora, overlapping bold shapes with colourful flowers and stems, seeds and insects.
