Detailed description

Lucien Pissarro stayed at the Hôtel St. Nicolas in Chaumont-en-Vexin, north-west of Paris, from 18th August to 5th September 1926 and again from 24th to 28th October, from where he wrote to his wife Esther, “I am working but the weather tho’ fine is very changeable and it obliges me to have several sittings for a water-colour!... I am working but have not done many things yet – tho’ I think – will have soon enough w.c. for my show”
