In glossy, tangelo orange—the unique colour of a Mustang or a Shelby car, this intriguing piece was the first sculpture created by California’s Lori Cozen-Geller. It’s minimalism and its inspiration is pure emotion. It’s a tribute to her beloved father who loved life and cars. Within hours of his passing, the artist translated her feelings onto a scrap of paper, the blueprint for ‘Piece.’ She’d just lost a big piece of her life but took solace in the joy of her father’s memory.
“The dimensions of the piece along with the colour and finish represent the power of the emotion that the piece was born out of.” Lori Cozen-Geller
Lori Cozen Geller lives in California and acquired a BA from the University of Southern California. Cozen-Geller’s studio is in Venice Beach, California. Her work is held in private and public collections in North America.
