This painting is attributable to the pictorial results of the artistic production of Marzio Masturzo. In comparison, it is possible to observe the canvases published by Sestieri depicting a Battle between cavalry in front of a Roman bridge and Battle for the conquest of a bridge, in a private Paduan collection or with the work depicting a similar theme that appeared in auctions. The iconography is also attributable to that of the large fresco by Raffaello Sanzio in the Sala di Costantino of the Papal Palaces in Rome depicting the battle of Constantine against Maxentius on the Milvian Bridge.
