Comments: During the early 20th century, he sold millions of hand-colored photographs, placing him second only to his teacher, Wallace Nutting (see entry), in competition for the tourist trade and the middle class. His David Davidson Studios was active in Providence, RI from 1907-50s, and produced editions of more than 1,000 different images.
