biography of MINOT (XIX)

Comments: Apparently began career in Boston with the Boston Bewick Company, contributing a number of wood engravings to the firm's American Magazine of Useful and Entertaining Knowledge in 1835. In 1841-42, he was living in Philadelphia and a partner in the engraving firms of Croome, Meignelle & Minot (with William Croome and James Meignelle); and Croome & Minot. His work appears in numerous books and periodicals published in Philadelphia, NYC, and Cincinnati between 1839 and 1855.
