Comments: Hamilton must have still been in NYC as of 1843, because his daughter was born in New York about that time. His name disappears from the directories after 1840, but from 1852-63 a William M. appears. In 1858 William M. exhibited at the National Academy. He was listed in the 1860 Census simply as William.
