Comments: Was an importer of French mirrors and framemaker from c.1843. After the Civil War he also imported engravings and artwork made in France. In 1868 he advertised the sale of a series of four lithographs issued by A.L. Boimare, a publisher in Paris. Uter eventually became one of the largest art dealers in the city and continued his business until his death.
