Comments: Early in his career he was in NYC, illustrating for Harper"s, Century, Scribner"s, and Saturday Evening Post. He attracted a number of artists to live in Westport, CT, which became a colony for artists and illustrators. Not to be confused with the genre painter, George Wright, of Phila. (exhibited 1876-94, see entry).
