Born in Buenos Aires on June 21, 1879 and died in Madrid, Spain, on July 5, 1952. As a child he emigrated with his family to Madrid and became a pupil of Emilio Ordóñez.Although he practiced the disciplines of painting and sculpture, for his shyness he never attended exhibitions or contests.
His usual themes, heavily influenced by Goya, Lucas Velázquez and Fortuny, include majesty, still lifes, landscapes and Orientalist scenes, especially Moors on horseback.
