Rare Orientalist Pastel on canvas applied (unglued) on cardboard on a wood frame. He became known at the age of 22, after studying at the Brussels Academy, by the social realism of his painting. He left Belgium for Paris where he attended personalities like Rodin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Paul Signac or Debussy. His painting is linked to the Symbolist movement. Touched by social theme, sometimes portraitist then illustrator and sculptor, he was a committed & multidisciplinary artist. Exhibited in: Paris, Brussels, Ostend, Spa, Amsterdam, London and Florence... Known for large sized pastels on canvas which reached recent results over 25000 € in auctions.
