Note: A screenprint exists with the same subject matter - a Minotaur and a lady-hare hugging each other. Ryder uses recurring figures such as a minotaur, a dog, a horse, and the “Lady Hare” (whose body is modelled on her own), to create artworks which suggest enigmatic narratives woven around human relationships and communication. Using variations in scale or differences in physical interaction between her characters, Ryder subtly conveys their emotional states and how they interrelate with one another.
