Marcel Dyf (1899-1985) was a French artist who painted in the impressionist manner.  He was promoted by Frost and Reed, London, with his first solo exhibition.  They promoted Dyf throughout America, travelling every year and distributing his paintings to various galleries.  Frost and Reed dominated the supply of his works, regularly buying the entire production of his works in any one year.  This picture is one of many paintings from a popular subject of his, the French countryside, still in it's original frame.
